This week a Fox News weatherman, Adam Klotz, fell victim to a gang of teenagers on the subway in New York City.
Klotz, 37, was on the subway at around 1:15 am when he saw a group of teens harassing an older man. He stepped in to tell them to stop and, tragically, paid the price with a pair of black eyes and some bruised ribs.
Speaking of the incident, Klotz said, “Coming home last night from watching the [New York] Giants game at a bar, on the subway, this older gentleman was being hassled by this group of seven or eight teens.”
Klotz continued to say, “I was like, ‘Yo, guys, cut that out.’ And they decided, ‘Alright, he’s not gonna get it, then you’re going to get it,’ and boy did they give it to me. They had me on the ground, my ribs are all kinds of bruised up too. They got their hits in.”
Witnesses reported that the teens punched him in the face and kicked him in the chest. Three of the teenagers, two 15-year-olds and one 17-year-old, were caught by police who took their details and contacted their parents. Though three of the teenagers were apprehended by the NYPD, the remainder were able to escape.
Klotz took to his Instagram stories to explain what had happened and shared the injuries to his face. He added that he had been left with bruised ribs and had to get X-rays as a result of the attack.
Klotz’s face was clearly beaten and tender, with both eyelids red and purple, but the weatherman clarified saying “I got X-rays. I’m OK. This is all going to heal. So, it’s all good.”
“You should see the other guy,’ Klotz joked. “My side is so much worse than my face, and the thing is the other guy is not really a guy. It’s children. Five or six children.”
