The cast of the Hulu show “Only Murders in the Building” appears to have had a nostalgic moment between takes. On March 21, actor Steve Martin posted a photo of him in a tuxedo with co-star Selena Gomez in a wedding dress and veil on his Twitter account.
“Guess what just happened!” Martin captioned the photo on Twitter, which was reminiscent of his “Father of the Bride” movie.

Martin famously led the 1991 film, “Father of the Bride,” and its 1995 sequel, “Father of the Bride Part II.” Martin’s picture prompted his longtime collaborator and friend Martin Short to get in on the nostalgia. Short posed in his wedding attire with Gomez in her bridal wear.

The official “Only Murders” Instagram also shared the same photo with the caption, “Father of the Bride?” None of the actors offered any hints as to who Gomez’s character, Mabel, was seemingly marrying in the show. Gomez also shared two behind-the-scenes photos of her on the ground with her wedding dress and white combat boots.

Season Three of “Only Murders” will be a star-studded one, with Meryl Streep, Ashley Park, Jesse Williams, and Paul Rudd making appearances. Rudd, who briefly appeared in the second season, is also returning for the new episodes. Rudd commented that working with Martin Short and Steve Martin felt like “Mount Rushmore.” A first teaser for Season Three was released on March 12, with a first look at Streep’s character, but no premiere date has been announced at this time.
“For a comedy fan like myself, (working with) Martin Short and Steve Martin, that’s Mount Rushmore … So to get to work with them was, I mean, I still kind of can’t believe it,” Paul Rudd told TODAY.
The third season of the show is set to be a star-studded one, with many fan-favorite actors and actresses making appearances. It remains to be seen when the highly-anticipated season will be released and what the wedding scene will entail.
