Stunning Surveillance Photos Show Crooks Who Stole $300K From Armored Truck

On Friday, January 6, three male criminals committed a brazen act of theft in Brooklyn, New York. They managed to steal $300,000 from a Brink’s armored truck in a matter of seconds.

Surveillance photos released by police show one of the criminals running across a street clutching a bag, likely containing the stolen cash. The other two criminals distracted the driver by asking for directions, allowing their accomplice to grab the money bag that the Brinks worker momentarily left on the back bumper of the truck.

“While the employee was distracted, another unknown individual quickly removed a bag that was left unattended on the bumper of the armored Brink’s truck and fled the scene on foot,” police said.

“They just distracted him while talking to him,” a police spokesman said, adding there was no indication that the theft was an inside job. “It was a crime of opportunity. Someone saw an opportunity.”

It is unclear how the crooks were able to get away with such a large amount of money without raising suspicion. According to police, there is no indication that the theft was an inside job. It appears to have been a crime of opportunity.

The man who removed the bag was described as having a slim build and was last seen wearing a black winter hat, a black hooded jacket, grey pants, and black sneakers. The man who distracted the armored-car employee was described as having a medium build, wearing a black winter hat with white trim, a black winter coat with a hood, grey pants, and black sneakers. The third suspect was described as having a medium build and wearing a black winter hat, a black face mask, a black jacket, black pants, black sneakers, and a black backpack.

The case remains unsolved, and Brink’s is working with law enforcement to investigate the incident. “We can confirm there was an incident involving a Brink’s crew in Brooklyn on Friday and we are working with law enforcement,” the company said in a statement. “At this time, we don’t have any further information to share.”
