For years, the world has watched many times in alarm as Britney Spears’ personal life has been thrust into the spotlight. From her tumultuous relationships to her battle with addiction, mental health issues, and her highly publicized conservatorship, Britney has always been in the spotlight.
Recently fans have voiced their concern for the star following her very public family feuds and her continuous slew of social media posts. Most recently, Britney caused concern when she was accused of suffering a ‘manic meltdown’ in a Los Angeles restaurant, before posting a bizarre Instagram post comparing herself to ‘Shrek’ and saying she was “a little drunk.”
It was said that Spears’ husband became so upset that he stormed out, however, he set the record straight saying that he was frustrated at the paparazzi and went to get their car.
After successfully breaking free of her conservatorship in 2021, Britney has spoken out about the “serious mental trauma” she endured. Her parents, Jamie and Lynne, have been at odds for years, with Britney blaming her mother for her losing her children. Jamie and Lynne both had a hand in placing Britney under a conservatorship, yet Lynne was soon ostracized and moved back to Louisiana, with Britney declining her hundreds of calls.
Meanwhile, Britney and her younger sister Jamie Lynn have also developed a highly argumentative relationship. After Jamie Lynn made a “very conscious choice” to “only participate” in Britney’s life as her sister, Britney blasted the conservatorship as a “family business,” and attacked her sister calling her a “scum person” for telling “crazy lies.”
Britney has also had an incredibly strained relationship with her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden. Their father Kevin was awarded sole legal and physical custody of the pair in 2008, with Britney not seeing the boys in months. Their wish to avoid the circus surrounding their mother’s private life even caused the boys to not attend her wedding to American-Iranian model Sam Asghari.
