Elvis Star Austin Butler Mourns Lisa Marie Presley’s Death After Receiving Award

Austin Butler was nominated for Best Actor at the 28th annual Critics Choice Awards this past Sunday. Butler also paid tribute to the death of Elvis’ daughter, Lisa Marie Presley.

Lisa Marie passed away at the age of 54 just days before the Awards show, leaving her mother Priscilla, daughter Riley Keough, and twin daughters Harper and Finley devastated.

Butler, who stars as Elvis Presley in the Baz Luhrmann-directed biopic, was one of the many people to express their condolences for the loss of Lisa Marie.

In a statement obtained by Fox News Digital, Butler said, “My heart is completely shattered for Riley, Finley, Harper, and Priscilla at the tragic and unexpected loss of Lisa Marie. I am eternally grateful for the time I was lucky enough to be near her bright light and will forever cherish the quiet moments we shared. Her warmth, her love, and her authenticity will always be remembered.”

However, Butler was able to pay tribute to Lisa Marie and her family at the Golden Globe Awards, where he won Best Actor in a Motion Picture-Drama for his role in the “Elvis” biopic.

During his acceptance speech, he thanked Lisa Marie and Priscilla, both of whom were in the audience with his sister Ashley just days before Lisa Marie passed away. Butler said, “Thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, and your home to me. Lisa Marie, Priscilla, I love you forever.”

Lisa Marie was the only daughter of Elvis and Priscilla. She had a half-brother, Navarone Garibaldi, from Priscilla’s 20-year relationship with Marco Garibaldi. Elvis sold over 500 million records worldwide in his decades-long career and is recognized by Guinness World Records as the best-selling solo artist of all time.

Baz Luhrmann took to Instagram to share a photo of Butler sitting beside Lisa Marie and wrote, “Over the last year, the entire ‘Elvis’ movie family and I have felt the privilege of Lisa Marie’s kind embrace. Her sudden, shocking loss has devastated people all around the world. I know her fans everywhere join me in sharing prayers of love and support with her mother, Priscilla, and her wonderful daughters Riley, Finley and Harper. Lisa Marie, we will miss your warmth, your smile, your love.”
