Model Emily Ratajkowski Speaks Out After Seeing Old Taylor Swift Interview With Ellen DeGeneres

Taylor Swift is no stranger to media scrutiny. Over the years, the pop star has been bombarded with questions about her romantic life, her songwriting, and her success.

However, one particular interview has been getting some newfound attention – and it’s raising some serious questions.

Recently, a TikTok user shared a side-by-side video of two Swift interviews. In the first interview, Swift is speaking with Zane Lowe in 2019. In the conversation, she talks about how her dating life has been reduced to a “trick,” and how her songwriting skills have been minimized.

The second video is an interview Swift had with Ellen DeGeneres in 2012, where the talk show host asked her to play a game about her song “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”

Model Emily Ratajkowski was appalled by the interview, commenting on TikTok, “This is so f—ed up. She is literally begging her to stop.”

And it’s true – Swift did seem uncomfortable throughout the interview, with DeGeneres pushing her to play the game even after the singer said she didn’t want to.

“I don’t know if I’m going to do this,” Swift says to DeGeneres, to which the talk show host replies, “Yah you will.”

“Stop it, stop it, stop,” Swift exclaims at the end of the spliced clip.

A few years later, Swift spoke to Apple Beats’ Zane Lowe about previous interviews she’s had that she felt reduced her to the men she had dated and said, “When I was like 23, people were just kind of reducing me to — kind of making slideshows of my dating life and putting people in there that I’d sat next to at a party once and deciding that my songwriting was like a trick rather than a skill and a craft.”

It’s clear that Swift has been subjected to some questionable lines of questioning over the years. But while it’s understandable why some are upset with DeGeneres for her treatment of Swift, it’s important to note that the two seemed to have made amends in the years since.

Swift did appear on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” several more times before it wrapped in 2022.

As recently as two weeks ago, the show’s YouTube channel uploaded a compilation video of all the times Swift had joined DeGeneres on her talk show. And in 2015, Swift even invited DeGeneres out on stage during her “1989” tour.

It’s understandable why people are still talking about the 2012 interview, however, it’s important to note that Swift and DeGeneres have seemingly moved past the incident.
