Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are now officially divorced.
Kardashian, 42, and West 45, have finalized their divorce while coming to an agreement about child custody and property, PEOPLE confirmed.
According to divorce documents obtained by PEOPLE,
the former couple will have joint physical and legal custody of their four children: North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3.
The Grammy winner will be required to pay Kardashian $200,000 a month in child support. He will also be responsible for half of the children’s medical, educational, and security expenses.
The former couple also agreed to settle disputes regarding their children by using a mediator. However, if either one of them fails to use the mediator, the other is allowed to make the decision in a dispute by default.
The assets of the former duo, including their home, will be divided based on the terms of their prenup.
Previous to the divorce, Kardashian was ruled legally single during a bifurcation hearing.
West had initially challenged Kardashian’s request, however later said, “I’ve asked my team to expedite the dissolution of my marriage to Kim so I can put my entire attention to our beautiful children.”
In court documents filed in February for the bifurcation hearing, Kardashian said, “I very much desire to be divorced. I have asked Kanye to keep our divorce private, but he has not done so. Kanye has been putting a lot of misinformation regarding our private family matters and co-parenting on social media which has created emotional distress. I believe that the court terminating our marital status will help Kanye to accept that our marital relationship is over and to move forward on a better path which will assist us in peacefully co-parenting our children.”
She went on to say, “While I wish our marriage would have succeeded, I have come to the realization that there is no way to repair our marriage. Kanye does not agree but at least it appears that he has come to the realization that I want to end our marriage, even if he does not. I ask that the Court restore me to the status of a single person so that I can begin the healing process and so that our family can begin the healing process and move forward in this new chapter in our lives.”
