Alejandra Silva, the wife of actor Richard Gere, celebrated her 40th birthday with her family on a beach. On Thursday, Silva shared a rare photo on Instagram of her and her family walking towards the ocean, with 4-year-old Alexander holding her hand and their newest addition, whom they welcomed in April 2020, running slightly ahead.
“Thank you all for the birthday wishes.. after almost 3 weeks of everyone being sick in our family, today finally I feel much better!” Silva said in the caption. “Thank you for all the love ❤️ I give it all back to you! ???? #happybirthday #happy40.”

In November, Silva officially became a U.S. citizen and the couple celebrated with a photo of them posing with an American flag.
“Yesterday was a very important day for our family. God bless America, ????????” she posted.

The couple has known each other for over a decade before they began dating in 2014. A source close to the pair told PEOPLE they had married “weeks and weeks ago” and were “extraordinarily happy,” adding, “They’re so comfortable with each other, have fun together, and are looking forward to their future together.”
The film source, who has known Gere for years, told PEOPLE that the actor is “much happier in this half of his life because he is settled, confident, and doing what he likes.”
