The Christmas Movie Queen Stands Tall After Backlash Over ‘Traditional Marriage’ Comment

“Full House” star Candace Cameron Bure is facing backlash over a comment made about the new network called the “Great American Family.”

Bure’s role in the new network is to develop, produce and star in movies and television. She will also take on a prominent executive role at the company and help curate programming for the networks.

In an interview with USA TODAY, Bure said when asked about inclusivity on the channel, she stated that the Great American Family network would “have people of all ethnicities,” and is “going to focus on traditional families.”

This created a lot of controversy for the “Full House” star who hasn’t been shy about her faith.

Bure posted on her Instagram account regarding the hurtful comments saying, “To those who hate what I value and who are attacking me online: I love you. To those who have tried to assassinate my character: I love you. To everyone reading this, of any race, creed, sexuality, or political party, including those who have tried to bully me with name-calling, I love you.”

Though Bure has received many hurtful comments, not all are opposed to her taking a stand for what she believes in.

One reporter said it correctly when she wrote, “Our politically correct, self-appointed overlords, the perpetual “Karens” who made every high school cafeteria a survival test of social standing, want them to stay silent and in their respective corners. As it turns out, Love ISN’T love if you don’t love the exact same things as the politically correct,” said Kristi S. Hamrick, a reporter from Fox News.

Bure’s daughter also spoke out on her Instagram page in support of her mother saying,
