Tim Allen’s Daughter Talks About The ‘Surreal’ Experience Working With Her Dad For New Christmas Special

Scott Calvin is back! The Santa Claus movies are a Christmas staple for many. In a new series on Disney+ Tim Allen is staring yet again as Santa Claus.

In the synopsis from Disney+ as reported on Movieweb,

“In the Disney+ series, Scott Calvin is on the brink of his 65th birthday and realizing that he can’t be Santa forever. He’s starting to lose a step in his Santa duties, and more importantly, he’s got a family who could benefit from a life in the normal world, especially his two kids who have grown up at the Pole. With a lot of elves, children, and family to please, Scott sets out to find a suitable replacement Santa while preparing his family for a new adventure in a life south of the pole.”

However, that’s not the only news to be revealed about the new series. Tim Allen’s daughter, Elizabeth Allen-Dick,13, stars alongside her father in the upcoming series.

Elizabeth was originally cast to be a background elf, per Allen’s request, however, taking after her father, she impressed the team with her comedic timing.

Allen speaking of his daughter’s audition, said, “She drilled a very difficult mood joke, and she kept on it all the way through.”  Her acting skills led her to land the part of Scott Calvin’s youngest daughter Sandra.

Speaking of her father, Elizabeth told Entertainment Tonight,  “He was there when I needed help, but he also let me kind of figure it out, too, which I really liked.”

“He taught me a lot of things but one that stuck with me was [about] getting into the character and then adding your little twist to it. Being that character, get used to the character, make friends with the character, and then kind of add some of your qualities to it and see how you can make it your own,” she continued.

Allen clarified that his daughter earned her role on her own merit saying, “I said it had very little to do [with the fact] that she’s related to me; she earned it.”

“The Santa Clauses” premieres Nov. 16 on Disney+.
