On Monday night, the NFL saw a terrifying scene unfold on the field. Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, 24, suddenly collapsed after tackling Bengals receiver Tee Higgins, suffering a cardiac arrest.
The medical staff rushed onto the field as Hamlin’s teammates frantically waved them in and an ambulance took him to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. His agent, Jordon Rooney, stated that Hamlin’s vitals had returned to normal levels at the hospital and they put him to sleep to insert a breathing tube.

Previously the Bills posted, “Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition.”

Hamlin is currently in the middle of his second season with the Bills. He gained his spot in Buffalo’s starting lineup this season after appearing in 14 games as a rookie.
