Woman Finds Hope After Her Husband Makes An Incredible Discovery In The Aftermath Of Hurricane Ian

Florida Woman Reunited With Lost Wedding Ring Found in Debris After Hurricane Ian
A woman from Fort Myers, Florida, who lost her wedding ring before Hurricane Ian, felt a renewed sense of hope after her husband found the band while clearing up after the storm.
Photos shared by Ashley Garner show the ring lying amid fallen branches and leaves.
Garner told Storyful she lost the ring on September 25, days before Hurricane Ian hit Fort Myers.

Local media reported that Garner had set the ring on a chair which her husband then moved, losing the ring in the process.

“I came to terms that I would never see it again. I just realized it was gone, the hurricane was coming and it was gone,” Garner told Fox 4.

However, she said the ring was found in the storm’s wake on September 29 when he husband, Blake Garner, saw it while clearing away broken branches.
“I thought, there’s no way. I grabbed it, gave it to my oldest son and said take it to your mom,” Blake Garner told Fox 4.

Ashley Garner said she was overwhelmed. “There’s hope and that we could rebuild stronger, that’s just how I felt in the moment.” she said. “I just sat on the curb, and I prayed to God and thanked him for providing and giving us a sign that there’s hope for the community.”

Fort Meyers was hit hard but residents are pulling together and the recovery has been steady.

Recently, Fort Meyers Beach restored water service to 60 additional streets.

Word from Town of Fort Myers Beach Utilities Director Christy Cory at Tuesday’s town council meeting that more than 60 Fort Myers Beach streets now have access to water – about half the town’s roads, brought much applause from a crowd of about 150 residents at the former SkipOne Seafood Restaurant.
