Anne Heche was involved in a fatal car accident on August 5th when she crashed into a Los Angeles home. The actress later died from injuries resulting from the crash.
According to the lawsuit, Lynne Mishele, the woman whose home was destroyed, claims that she and her pets almost lost their lives when Heche’s Mini Cooper plowed into her home.
Mishele claims Heche’s vehicle “barreled through the front of her house and deep into its interior” before it came “to a halt just feet away” from her and her pets.
Mishele claims the “sudden and terrifying blast shook her to her core,” and continued to say that the incident left her “completely traumatized, unusually startled by hearing loud noises, plagued by nightmares and flashbacks of the incident, terrified of walking outside, and, atop that, without a place to live.”
Additionally, Mishele asserts that she had “an entire life’s worth of her personal possessions destroyed in the fire.”
Mishele also referenced in the lawsuit that the presence of cocaine and fentanyl was detected in Heche’s system at the time of the accident.
Mishele is seeking at least $2 million in damages.
In a recent post on Facebook, Mishele thanked those who have supported her while saying she is still trying “navigate everything since the fire” and that she is “still kind of wrapping my head around all that.” Mishele went on to say how she has recently been battling a diagnosis of cancer but is doing well.
