4 College Students Found Dead- Crime Of Passion Or Something Else?

Mystery surrounds a devasted community as four college students were found dead around 3 or 4 in the morning on Sunday in Moscow, Idaho.

However, authorities have not yet found a motive. According to Mayor Artettge, the motives could include “burglary gone wrong” or a “crime of passion.”

Bettge told Fox News Digital on Monday, “It’s one of any of a plenitude of possibilities, including burglary gone wrong, robbery gone wrong… any of those is a possibility and not one to the exclusion of others.”

The Moscow Police Department responded to a report of an unconscious person around noon at a residence that was just across the road to Greek Row and just a few blocks from the University of Idaho campus.

The deceased college students were identified as Ethan Chapin,20, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Kaylee GonCalves, 21.

All four of the victims seemed to be friends as their social media accounts had many pictures of them together.  Some pictures were posted just hours before they were found dead.

Police do not have any suspects at this time, however, Bettge stated that the community should not be in fear for themselves based on the timing of the incident.

“The crime itself occurred at 3 or 4 in the morning. It was reported to the police at noon,” Bettge said Monday. “If there was going to be a crime spree, it probably would have perpetuated itself through that timeframe.”

Betge went on to say, “The university and the city are integrated in so many ways. And the fate of one resonates with the other one very strongly. This is a major shock, especially where the students are concerned, where they’re just emerging from two years of social isolation during COVID.”
