Home Owner Gives Towel-Wearing Would Be Burglar A Strong Life Lesson: Here’s What Happened – Watch

A Florida homeowner is being cheered on social media for his plucky response after finding an intruder inside his living room, wrapped in a towel. Apparently, feeling confident enough to take a bathroom break while riffling through cabinets, the suspect was punched by the homeowner not once but twice.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, at home in Fort Myers Beach. The homeowner confronted the suspect in the living room, at which point the intruder ran towards the homeowner and was met with a punch to the face. The suspect then tried to escape and was again punched by the homeowner.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a 64yearold man with a swollen nose and charged him with burglary of an occupied dwelling during a state of emergency.

“The homeowner was at a neighbor’s house when he was alerted on his cell phone … a man with a towel covering his head (was) trying to gain entry to the home,” the sheriff’s office told news reporters. “The homeowner returned to his residence and confronted the suspect … in the living room. (The man) ran towards the homeowner, at which point the homeowner struck him in the face.”

Deputies detained Miller Jr. on scene and, upon further investigation, learned he had rummaged through cabinets and used a bathroom inside the home.
Miller Jr. was arrested for burglary of an occupied dwelling during a state of emergency.

The homeowners brave response to the intruder has been praised on social media, with many people commending him for taking the necessary steps to protect his home and property.

Police identified Richard Miller Jr as the suspect who is 64.

Additionally, Lee County is still under a state of emergency due to the damage inflicted by Hurricane Ian.
